Opportunity to Refrain

Text: 1 Samuel 24:4-6.

“And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the Lord said unto thee, Behold, I will deliver thine enemy into thine hand, that thou mayest do to him as it shall seem good unto thee. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privily. And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart smote him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt. And he said unto his men, The Lord forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the Lord's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the Lord.”

‭‭1 Samuel 24: 4-6 KJV

1. Pray that you will be careful with what you call opportunity.

2. Pray that you will not abuse your power and avenge enemies yourself.

3. Pray that your loved ones will exercise godly conscience in opportune situations where they are tempted to please their flesh.

4. Pray that the members of your church will refrain from seizing opportunities to attack the anointed leadership of the church.

5. Pray that leaders of your nation will not seize opportunities to destroy, kill or harm their political foes.
